May 13 2010:

Subscriptions for the coming 2010-2011 season have been SOLD OUT!  If you would like to put your name on the waiting list for individual tickets if they become available, please go to the "Contact MKCA" page and send us an email with your name, address, telephone number, and email address.  We will then notify you if tickets become available for a specific concert.

Our last concert on May 2nd featuring Inon Barnatan was a great success!  He is an exciting young pianist who played a varied program with great passion and musicianship. He is also a very warm and personable young man and we enjoyed discussing music and life with him during the post-concert reception.  A few photos are posted on the "Photo Album".

ALSO:  Remember that if you'd like to leave a comment about the last concert or anything else, click on the "Discussion Forum" page and enter your comment or respond to someone else's.

April 11, 2010:

The Escher String Quartet gave us an exciting and varied program of music, including pieces by Beethoven, Bartok and Brahms.  Their playing was inspired and beautiful!  I received many compliments from audience members who felt that Adam, Andrew, Pierre and Wu Jie were not only amazing young musicians but also absolutely delightful people.  The reception afforded our subscribers a chance to talk with them and get to know them a little better--something that is always a great gift!  So we offer our thanks to the Escher String Quartet and look forward to following their career and to having them back to perform again in the future.  There are a few photos of the group during rehearsal that you can view by clicking on the "Photo Album" page of this website.

The concert was dedicated to the memory of our long-term supporter and friend, Skip Green, who passed away last December (see earlier announcement below).  I think Skip would have been the first one on her feet to applaud the performance that the Escher String Quartet gave.

MKCA would also like to again thank Terry and Jerry Feldman for hosting the concert at their magnificent home.  They are always warm and generous hosts.

December 18, 2009:

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of one of Mt. Kisco Concert Association's greatest friends, Skip Green.

Many of you knew her from the wonderful MKCA concerts that she and her husband Paul hosted in their home over the years. In addition to supporting MKCA they were active with many other music activities in Westchester. Skip was on our board for many years and is remembered for her hard work and dedication.  She would often take on the most difficult tasks and always approach them with her wonderful self-deprecating sense of humor.  She was a warm and compassionate person who will be sorely missed by those of us who knew her.
We plan to dedicate our our next concert on April 11, 2010 with the Escher String Quartet to her memory.  We will also be writing a tribute to her on this website in the next few weeks.  If you have any memories of Skip that you would like to share, please email them to me and I will use them as I prepare the tribute.  To do this you can send them directly to me, Tom Glum, at trgconsulting@optonline.net or you can click on the "Contact MKCA" page in the site map above.
For those who knew Skip you might wish to send Paul a card or note. His address is:

November 11, 2009:

The concert with Pamela Frank & Friends was a big hit!  The friends Pam brought with her were all truly accomplished young musicians and the program of Dvorak, Haydn and Mendelssohn  was spectacular.   We had the added benefit of an entertaining and educational Q & A session with the artists, and got the chance to talk with them at the reception.   We give our sincerest thanks to Pamela Frank, Arnaud Sussmann, Maurycy Banaszek, Mark Holloway and Sophie Shao and look forward to having them back again in the future.

All in all, it was another enjoyable concert and a great start to our current season.  See the Photo Album page for some photos taken at this event.  Also, if you would like to share any comments on this concert or anything else, go to the Discussion Forum page and leave a comment.

Our next concert is in the spring on  April 11, 2010 and features the Escher String Quartet.
